The Chinese business environment has transformed over the last few years. This transformation was sparked by the changes and reforms that were enacted when the Chinese authorities adopted the ‘Open Doors Policy’ back in 1978. The transformation of the country holds the record for being the fastest of the modern times with a 9 percent average annual growth. China is today the second largest economy in the world, behind only the United States. China is also at the top of the export numbers globally, responsible for around 10 percent of all the global export trade. China’s influence in the world economy and politics has grown alongside its burgeoning economic prowess. Recent years have witnessed the Chinese influence on some of the global events increase markedly. The target for this study is about the impact of guanxi on the business sector in China. The study will target the three constructs of the guanxi notion that are renqing, ganqing and xinren. The study will employ questionnaires, interviews, and the case study to gather data to establish this aim and objectives of the study. The data will subsequently be analyzed and conclusions and recommendations offered.
